Bot Not Stopping/Pausing

#1 Post by scithen » Wed Nov 28, 2012 1:28 pm

These last few days, I've been using the bot to powerlevel my wife's P/S, by having
my warden kill level 63+ mobs in LoM. Ever since the patch, however, I started using
a different spot, and I've run into a curious problem. I'm honestly not sure if it's the
bot or RoM itself, but I figured I'd start here.

First, even though I have 0 waypoint deviation in my profile, rarely does my warden
ever actually hit the waypoints.. she's always off a little, which causes a lot of
pathing issues in narrow spaces. I don't have a very good graphics card, though, so
I assume it's just my comp lagging and missing the waypoints a little. I usually just add
extra waypoints to smooth things out. To make sure my warden doesn't target things
she can't see, I did make sure to adjust the max target distance and such, so it really
runs very smoothly.. save for the occasional tight corner, but that doesn't happen very
often.

The problem I'm most curious about is, after a handful of hours both my account and
my wife's account will be logged out and the bot will continue to run. I assume it's
not getting stuck, since it always logs me out and closes my game when that happens,
then the bot shuts off. Instead, I come back to the login screen with "wwwwwwwww"
in my acct name field, and the bot's been doing this for however many hours:

Code: Select all

Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_HEART_OF_THE_=>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Use MACRO: WARDEN_BRIAR_SHIELD =>   <UNKNOWN> (1000/1000)
Oddly enough, my wife's comp also goes into sleep mode after so long, even though
it's set to not do that if it's plugged in.. which it always is. Can anyone offer some
insight? Like I said, I'm not sure if it's the bot, RoM, or even our laptops.. but it's
kind of frustrating, having to babysit it all the time when it used to work just fine
before the patch.

Edit: Using rom bot v3.29, and revision 742. I just updated it to 743, though, and
hope it works better. Latest version of RoM, since I play on an official server.

Edit #2: I've also noticed that if a mob aggros my warden before the bot picks it
up as a target, she'll continue to run forward for a few seconds, then turn and go
back to the mob.. run past it, have to turn around, and then finally be in melee
range. That causes a lot of trouble with my waypoints as well, especially in narrow
areas such as the Moonlight Circus in LoM. If the waypoint is near a wall, she'll often
run against it for a few seconds before doing the first turn back. Then once the mob
is dead, she runs back, past the previous waypoint, and gets back on track.. usually.

I'd say you either lost your connection temporarily or you were disconnected from the server for whatever reason. The fact that it's still trying to cast means it didn't do anything to cause the disconnection or else it wouldn't still be trying to cast. It's possible a timer disconnected you such as the gmmonitor userfunction. Do you use that? If so I believe you can check it's log. The fact that it still tries to cast is not too big an issue, if it was safely at the login screen, even if ideally you probably want it to stop. We can't check to see if we are still logged in, everywhere. So if a disconnect happens at just the wrong time you could end up getting stuck in a loop like you did when it got stuck casting.

I do use the GM monitor, actually, but I wasn't aware that it made a log somewhere.
Could you point me in the direction of where the log might be? I checked rom/logs,
but all that's in it are files for AT and CoT apparently.

If there was a log, that's where it would be. To tell you the truth, I don't know that it logs restarts or not. Last thing to check is if you have gmmmonitor set to log off. I think there would have to be an option set in your profile. I think it's called "GMnearbylogout".

Well it is a server problem..... From time to time server just disconnects everyone (not actually same time, but in 2-3min frame). Have same problem myself, as said before as you are logged off not a big problem maybe only waste of money/time.....
