New Targeting System Tries To Attack My Pet

#1 Post by KillerTHC » Tue Jul 20, 2010 3:16 pm

The new targeting system tries to attack my pet and just sits there until it finds the next mob but once it kills that it tries to attack my pet again.

I'm unable to reproduce this. Try setting MAX_TARGET_DIST to something small (like 100), and use wander mode in an area away from all enemies. This should make your pet the only possible target. Do you still experience the problem?

What does it say in the console window?

Yes it still repeats this problem.

The output window says:
Use MACRO: MAGE_PLASMA_ARROW => * Failed to cast *
Use MACRO: MAGE_LIGHTNING => fluffy (1497/1497)

fluffy is my pets name

Easy to fix, add your pet name to friends in profile, that solve the problem.
Gonna look for pet offset, has to be in player struct...

Today I noticed, my bot stands before varanas and tried all the time to attack a sign

Code: Select all

Engaging enemy [To Forsaken Abbey] in combat.
Use 2: SCOUT_SHOT          =>   To Forsaken Abbey (144/144)

So, I take it you're not talking about a warden pet, then?

the new system does that with many things, like npc, signs, pets another players...
for me changing TARGET_LEVELDIF_BELOW solved the problem with npc (in egg hunt) but imho the problem is somehow bigger :/

I am talking about the new pets that everyone can have. I don't find my bot attacking NPCs or Signs, just Mobs and my pet but now just Mobs.

Please continue to report problems like this. Be specific as to which NPC and where to find them.

Where can I get one of these pets to test with? Hopefully it's something quick and easy (and non-cash shop).

Uber easy, talk to the NPC in East Varanas (next to teleporter) and ask him to take you to Miller ranch, there you do a quest (just kill one mob) to get a pet and then you have one to test.
And no, new pets are not cash shop items...

There are NPCs in Varanas, Obsidian and Pioneer's Colony, I believe.
They have donkeys with them. Just talk to one and do the quests.

How long do these quests normally take? I don't want to waste several hours trying to get a pet in a game I don't even play.

EDIT: Try updating again. This should be fixed in the latest revision.

The quest takes less than 5 minutes anyway.

1. Create a char in ELF
2.go near HV
3.talk to the guy on a donkey and select thats you want to go to millers ranch
4.talk to the guy beside the donkey and take the quest
at your right you should see a cuted tree (sorry dont know it in english :S)
click on it and a mobs should pop.
kill it. use the trap and do this : TRAP CAVY YOU and slowly push the cavy in the trap (the cavy should go were you look at)
talk to the cavy to collect the egg and there you go you got a cavy in your bag! right click it and put it in a free space in the new window that popout (the free space are at the top left)
summon it and there it is just beside you ;)
