GameGuard removed

As some of you may already be aware, GameGuard has been removed from Shaiya. Not entirely, but it is no longer launching GameGuard or using it to "protect" the game's executable. This is a huge victory for users everywhere. Most particularly, for the legitimate user (not just hackers/botters as some think).

No longer must you disable your anti-virus to play a game. No longer must you rely on old drivers. No longer must you close all other (legitimate) applications to log in. But, most importantly, no longer do you need to worry about some poorly-made rootkit digging it's claws into your computer doing who-knows-what, resulting in wasted resources, slowness, crashing, etc.

There is also the added benefit that you may now run the game through Wine on Linux, or on the new Windows 7. It is about time they have wised-up, listened to their users, and took a step in the right direction. We can only hope that other companies will follow suit.
