Avoiding elites - question on idea

So to avoid elites, how hard would it be to add something like an ignorelist.xml that you could just list the names of the elites (or anything else by name), then in the player.lua where it checks the target, it compares target.name to whatever was listed in the ignorelist.xml. I know you wouldn't actually avoid them/ walk around them, but it would make it so you wouldn't attack them and get 1 shotted
