Ok, round two. After a few hours of screwing with the database, I trashed the whole thing and was able to restore a recent backup. There shouldn't be any lost posts, users, or private messages.

I cannot be certain that the SQL error 28 problem has been fixed, but I've taken a few steps that might have done the job. If you notice any of these errors, please let me know.
