It should be 256 when you are inside of your house. Otherwise, I think it is 0, but I cannot remember offhand. Just get in your house and use 256 for an exact value search, and when you're out of your house, use a changed unknown value search. This should narrow it down fairly quickly.

elverion wrote:I used an unknown value search (for all integer types). I then would toggle between sitting and standing, and filter for a changed value. This can be very time consuming, and will probably result in a lot of different addresses which could potentially be involved. It all depends on the game in question. I hope this answers your question.
I'm not sure if you know this or Fiesta is just built to be like that, but if you like to hear my way;
You just look for a 1 byte value which is either 1 or 0. Basically its like this, triggering Rest is 1 and standing 0. And now you just have to filter that. Takes about 1 minute.

I'm still working on it. So far I've had a patch that would let me get to the main menu of Fiesta without XTrap, but then it would crash when trying to join a server.

No, I don't really think there is anything you can do. I've made a little progress, but the new Fiesta.bin constantly crashes at random intervals. I did find something that made me kind of laugh, though:
Code: Select all
006632A1 6A 00 PUSH 0 ; /Style = MB_OK|MB_APPLMODAL
006632A3 68 208B7200 PUSH Fiesta.00728B20 ; |Title = "aaa"
006632A8 68 1C8B7200 PUSH Fiesta.00728B1C ; |Text = "111"
006632AD 6A 00 PUSH 0 ; |hOwner = NULL
006632AF FF15 F8326E00 CALL DWORD PTR DS:[<&USER32.MessageBoxA>>; \MessageBoxA
006632B5 |.^EB CB JMP SHORT Fiesta.00663282
006632B7 |> B0 01 MOV AL,1
006632B9 \.^EB CB JMP SHORT Fiesta.00663286
Best error message ever. Silly developers.

Nah, it just reflects changes of the new update. There's an incompatibility with some of the new files with the old files, which is why it explodes. Using an old copy of Fiesta, I can still get in without XTrap, but there's no way I'm going to make a 1.8GB patch. It's pretty much trial and error to figure out exactly which files need to be updated, and which ones not.

Wasn't me. I haven't even played any online games (aside from on the PS3) within the last few days. If you see a "MystikFox" or "Elverion" in any game, I can almost guarantee it won't be me.
Though, it could be fun if we were to get together and play something like GunBound sometime.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a good game, but it's fun to get a couple friends together and play a couple rounds. It's a turn based game where you shoot at each other with several er...robot(?) "mobiles".

I think Gunster/Gunstrike is more fun, but I don't speak Japanese, and the English version was taken down.

What are you trying to accomplish?
You could try to isolate the Xtrap lowdriver, I doub't its still working but it did a few months ago.

Can you explain further?
Well, the way Fiesta is coded is pretty bad. They are not checking the return values on their function calls, so if you outright block XTrapVa.dll from loading, it crashes because it will try to access memory from an HMODULE that has not been opened. Likewise, if you use an empty DLL, the values returned from GetProcAddress() will also be invalid, resulting in crashing.
Therefor, my proposal is to wait till after Fiesta has done what it needs with XTrap, then unload and block it from reloading XTrapVa.dll. It is an experimental idea, and I do not expect it to work, honestly.
I've tried several other methods, and everything has resulted in a crash. At one point, I was able to log into Fiesta without XTrap and get to play...but I honestly have no idea what I did to accomplish this. I am thus far unable to reproduce it.
