Going bananas

#1 Post by jasn » Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:25 am

Been reinstalling the game since the chptr 4 at every patch they release.
Going nuts over the autopatcher, it doesn work on my stationary comp. On my Lappie it works.
It wont D/L the latest patch autmaticly, and when doing it manually it wont install it correctly..

anyone knowing a workaround ?

actually when installing the game for the first time I ran into the same problem with patcher screwing up one patch, I found it on the runes of magic forums somewhere, the thread had all the updates you could manually download and install ill look for it for ya

Jasn have you tried completely uninstalling and then downloading the patcher again starting at patch 1? I know this takes forever but it might b worth the shot.

Did you delete the runes of magic folder first?

what I do is delete the files and folders in the runes of magic folder, that way you keep the same folder name which all of the installation files point to.

then copy all the files and folders from the other computer into the runes of magic folder.

think i fixed it, for now.

D/L the patch manually on my lappi. used an USB to move it to my stationery . shutdown all antivirus(as i noticed i have to do ). made a copy of original RoM folder.
Renamed the original RoM , renamed copy of to Runes of Magic.
Copied the patch from USB to rom folder. installed. logged in :) .

I think that MS security essentials dont like something in this patch, because every earlier patch went on smoothly with the updater after a new install.
