There's still an issue with the changes that is unresolved. I'll try to fix it sometime next week with SRSwap but there's no guarantee it'll "fix". So I'll just have to get back to you on this.

I think if you empty the account names then it wont show the button.

nah you need to edit the .xml to change what appears.
You can either edit it yourself or use the one I attached

This file has just 4 tabs

4 tab version, just replace existing file

That's strange because it says "If the Account username is empty then the button will be hidden." And sure enough, I only have 5 usernames entered and only 5 buttins show (or did, when I used to use it).

Actually it just occured to me my autologin is very old, so the newer versions might do that, mine doesn't lol

I kept just getting login fails when I used the latest versions so I went back to the old one that always worked for me.

The ones on page 1 are the latest version. The latest 2.11 should work.

when I tried 2.11 it gave me a failed to login thing and all of the background dissappeared, had to kill client to get out. I tried it 4-5 times and was the same every time.

http://rom.curse.com/downloads/rom-addo ... ogin2.aspx
Installation:

Do NOT use the curse client!
Download and extract folder to "interface/" subdirectory
(resulting in a "interface/loginxml/" directory NOT interface/addons !)

It makes it so you can log into any character on any account in your set account info tables. So yes, between accounts works fine.

I am a little baffled by something, I have renamed some of the acc spots, as an example assume acc7 was named "Studmuffin" I changed it to "Acc7" but the login screen still shows "Studmuffin" on the button. I've done a full search of the files in the client folder and there is no "Studmuffin" at all in the files anywhere, also did a search of the folder with savedvariables and again nothing.

I don't understand how or why it is still showing the old name, not only showing it but also using the previous acc name and password that I changed.

Edit: Deleted folder, d/l new zip and added it to the client folder. Started RoM and all the account names were still there on the tabs. Files show acc1 acc2 acc3 and so on. It's like I have a file I can't see or edit that is affecting the client.

Ok so fresh files of autologin, I delete the accountlogin.lua (holds all the acc info) and start client. Still has the names of the accounts ont he tab.

even did a check of files from command line

Code: Select all

17/07/2011  06:45 PM            22,140 accountlogin.xml
17/07/2011  06:45 PM            11,353 characterselect.lua
17/07/2011  06:45 PM            19,866 characterselect.xml
17/07/2011  06:45 PM            14,710 logindialog.lua
17/07/2011  06:45 PM             4,858 logindialog.xml
17/07/2011  06:45 PM               129 Readme.txt
               6 File(s)         73,056 bytes
This is really bizzare and has me completely stumped =(

If this works, which it seems too, can you explain how it avoids the secondary password failure that normally happens when changing character manually? It would be good if we could change account manually without having to restart the client.

Also is it possible to make the acctoload optional when you just want to change characters on the same account? Or how about being able to use account names as well?

Oh heck, I'll just write it myself.

Code: Select all

function ChangeChar(toontoload, acctoload)
	if acctoload == nil then
		acctoload = LogID
	end

	if type(acctoload) == "string" then
		-- Find acctoload number
		local found = false
		for account, details in pairs(CustomLogin) do
			if details.UserName == acctoload then
				acctoload = tonumber(string.match(account,"Account(%d*)"))
				found = true
			end
		end
		-- account name not found
		if not found then
			return
		end
	end

	swappingChar = true

	fastLoginChrSel = toontoload
	CHARACTER_SELECT.selectedIndex = toontoload
	LogID = acctoload
	fastLoginUser = CustomLogin["Account"..acctoload].UserName
	fastLoginPass = CustomLogin["Account"..acctoload].Password
	fastLoginRelog=true
	DisconnectFromServer()
	DefaultServerLogin(fastLoginUser,fastLoginPass)
end
Seems character selection is not 100% reliable. Eg. if I change account and load character 2, it might load character 1 instead. When I go to the character selection screen manually, character 2 is selected but that is not what it loaded.

Also I just got a secondary password failure so it hasn't been fixed, it just seems to work most of the time.

Lisa, this sounds familiar. Didn't you have a problem before that when you changed some files the changes didn't seem to take effect? What was the problem then?

Yeah I was thinking it might be still going from that.

Issue I had/have is that windows 7 is stupid lol
Ok story is that even though I am admin it won't let me change edit files without going into properties/security and then editing permissions to users.
It will then let me edit the files.
What happened a while back was using notepad++ it had some weird conflict and the file seemed to dissappear but notepad++ was still editing it for some weird reason.
I can't find anything in documentation for notepad++ for this behaviour.
