Dragons Prophet

#1 Post by Jandrana » Fri Mar 22, 2013 7:59 am

At 03/19/13 the public beta for Dragons Prophet startet: https://www.dragonsprophetthegame.com/.

Like RoM it is being developed by Runewaker. The publisher is Sony Entertainment (region unknown)
and Infernum ( Europe) - the former Frogster CEO plus some people that made up Frogster Entertainment before RoM was
aquired by Gameforge.

The beta started on the same day as RoM was celebrating it's 4th anniversary.

Anybody applied for beta or even got a key already?

From what I have seen so far, it looks like a modernized version of RoM with contents based on the
dragons theme. Also the item shop looks quite similar to RoM.

I could imagine that some of the code being used with RoM found it's way into DP, so maybe it's
less effort to get the RoM bot working with DP some day.

I know they changed a lot and added new stuff to the game.
Yesterday I tested it out again. I was in another start zone, they added macro and some other stuff.

The most surprising thing was they removed Hack Shield

HackShield is, and always has been, a waste of time. It only interferes with average users. Those that intend to cheat can and will disable it. Remember Fiesta and Shaiya? Every patch, I had it cracked and disabled within 5 minutes, and I'm far from a "good" cracker.

Eventually, the companies that use this crapware realize they only ever get false positives and instability from using it. They then look at how much money they are throwing away at licenses for it before finally coming to the conclusion they are better off without it.

Dragons Profit has many of the same problems Runes of Magic has. Memory leaks and such. They have fine tunes the abusive repetitive torture also to make you work harder so you might part with more money. All in all, it is worth a look I found the early levels fun but the crafting and equipment enhancement will take some getting used to if you are coming from runes of magic.

I agree asia -grinders sucks. I can imagine they wanted to spare the licence costs for HackShield because of the little population they have in the game.
I'm very certain they copied a lot of code from Rom to DP so to adapt the Rombot for DP would be relative easy if someone want to do it.

Okay a few thinks I picked up while levelling.

The Dragons:
Nice feature, you need to make a mini-game to catch them there are your mount and your pet. They also require some training in there horde..... and if you don't know you can fly with your dragon which feels awesome. The dragons itself you can find every where and they have different types of skills(tank/mage ....) Worldbosses and Elite are also dragons which you can tam.

By the way not all dragons can fly and some can swim I heard.(underwater ?)

The Pimp System:
I haven't done much yet but the main different most of the stuff a made by the help of an NPC not with items.
I think the equivalent of the + stones(NPC) you can buy with gold , f2p currency(DQ/TQ) or premium currency, you got the best chances with premium currency and the worst with gold....... and yeah the probability will be displayed.( In ROM this were wanted forever)

The Action House:
It's has poor filter options like in ROM and no premium currency trade(not in Europa/Inflame), so you have thrust your trading partner was kinda sucks. ( dias cost about 2k on the inflame server)

The Engine:
Sucks go home RW XD but at least you have a 64-bit support. The game close randomly and you need a good PC for the game if you don't want it to be laggy.( and it is still no guarantee like in ROM)

The Quests:
Nothing much new we have classic Quest with the help of quest helper(or better said it is like with questhelper in ROM) but also smaller and larger event and some random quests from time to time.(little bit like GW2) DQ can made in the open world or in Dungeons.

The Dungeons:
You can go solo or with a group, if you in a group so far I know the game will auto scale the difficult and the reward like in GW2. Rare dragons can be also randomly found in dungeons.

The Difficulty:
It is solo more difficult than NW but less than ROM in it beginning time, some elites in event are nasty main problem is you pull too much mobs, bosses in dungeons can be also a problem if you are solo but still doable.

The Combat System:
It is an action system like in Gw2 or NW but also combo attacks like from other games unlike NW you are not much grounded. Your Skills are mastery points(similar to LOL) and attributes for every level you gain. Titles gave you also some bonus. For the combos you can make macros I think which is in some way crazy. ( RW mixed to many things up again I think)

The Costs:
To be true I don't know but if you only playing through the quest I think it could be possible to be f2p. I played 1/4 of the world map through and didn't paid anything but I know inflame wants more and more money similar what happened in rom with frogster and there is no goldseller or bot I know of^^.

Currencies:
A lot of currencies but the main are dias, rubins , dragons shells(DQ), gold. I got also some wired point for event and randoms quests.

My impression is if the company would not have been RW which released the game it would be a trill. The bad reputation with taking forever with bug fixes and balancing and making strange design decisions killt this game, not only because it is a bad reputation but also because it is true. While adding new stuff RW also do nothing about true balancing of the classes( Scout is OP), the game client close randomly, I need too restart about 3 quests to get them work and this game hardly work on any older PC.

I would say DP = ROM 2 because many of the suggestions of the com for ROM did flow in this game(Like no dying penalty only rep costs) but the main issues were copied from ROM into DP(engine, AH, RW's game support)

So it is sweet and sour at the same time I think playing only the quest through are OK but any thing more will be difficult.

I did played a bit with CE. It still a lot to found.
I wonder is there any good strategies besides good guessing for the object tables of the mobs?

EDIT: Ups before I forget this is for the 64-bit variant

I also found the table with the currencies I will update it tomorrow together with the char name.
List what I should find: char position (x,y,z), char direction, flying/on dragon/mounted?
Mobs: Mobslist: HP, name ,lootable, level, position(XYZ)

I updated the post above I added currencies and the name of the char.
I did not add all currencies but when you take a look at the offset you see where they are and how you get them.
