Are those numbers correct?

#1 Post by BlubBlab » Sat Apr 12, 2014 1:40 pm

I mean the download counter here :http://www.solarstrike.net/rombot does it work correctly ?

When I'm calculate say 1000 players each server the official have 28 servers.
= 28.000. That are very high guessed numbers about the population I think that they are much less numbers of players in real.

So 9.411/28.000 = 33.61%
I can add more for the Nexon Server but it still about 25% I think that is a serious percentage.
Jack-of-all-trades, but master-of-only of a few :D

That number is from all-time, not just the current revision. It also includes the same user downloading multiple times (and no doubt, people have done this as new versions roll out) and even bots, such as webcrawlers.

At one time, the game was far more popular than it is now. Even back then, there were still a very high percentage of botters.

Funny I know from the wow board that they have about 8-11% of bot user.
Solarstrike's Rombot is the only one which I know is open source I think Aion has some for free use.

The topic came me in mind when I heard that they did make a great sweep in Drakensang online and banned a lot of bot users and that the bot is "still" a abo bot.

The future is really hard to foretell but I see that in Runes of Magic especially on the official nearly every week since the end of last year(how to tell?) the players got a faster heartbeat because someone from the management did something ridicules(or RW)

When I'm correct remember GF has a contract with RW until 2017 but I don't know how much they can loose(money/players) and still running the servers & co. I know MMORPGS can be around for a really long time but even after I stopped the game and have some distance their are only a few tiny spot that are good in that game like the huge open world.

For my feeling it would be good when we(or better somebody) could support another game, otherwise we run in danger that this project could be over in a not too far future.

We're already internally testing MicroMacro 2, which has a lot of new features and better design. Believe me, we've got some ideas on the table.
