Re: The latest version of RomBota

You're going to have to be more specific; what server are you playing on?

While I haven't actually tested anything myself in years, to the best of my knowledge the latest copy from Git Hub still works as long as you run the update command.

Re: How to insert wallhook?

It sounds like you're looking for a no-clip hack then. Unless you're experienced, that's going to be difficult to do by yourself, and I don't have one made already. Is x=168,z=168,y=-39 the position on the other side of the wall you want to get to? If so, then you need to replace the newX, newY, and...

Re: How to insert wallhook?

Easiest way to do it is to teleport rather than walk through the wall. Are you trying to bot this dungeon, or are you actually playing through it manually? Anyways, to automatically teleport from within your waypoint script, you can insert something like this: <! - # 1 -> <waypoint x = "832" z = "- ...

Oh, maybe I misunderstood. Do you mean to use a door or portal to get in or out of the dungeon?

Re: How to insert wallhook?

Are you only trying to get through one specific wall, or all walls? If you only need to do it at one point, I think you might want to use a teleport hack . I don't remember exactly how it works, but I think you are just writing to the character struct's X, Y, and Z positions. If you need to get thro...

Re: [Tutorial]Pointers and offsets part 2 - Double pointers (CE)

Does it mean that it is the static address? If I'm understanding correctly, you're doing it right. Your static address is 0x06026C6C5, and offset is 0x1C00. The way it works is that you take your address and add the offset to get 0x6026E2C5. 0x6026E2C5 is just another address, but it's value contai...

Re: [Tutorial]Pointers and offsets part 2 - Double pointers (CE)

Sorry, I'm not sure I fully understand. You're trying to find a pointer chain to some information, and in the end you're reaching a green (static) address? That should be exactly what you want. In some games, the display for things can be off because a copy of the data will be used in multiple diffe...

MicroMacro 2.0 advanced pathfinding (w/ example video)

I've been working on a pathfinding library for MicroMacro. The goal was to keep things as simple as possible, yet effective enough for most general purposes. At the present state, the pathfinding library will not work well in 3d games where you have multiple layers that cross over each other (for ex...

Re: [Tutorial]Pointers and offsets part 2 - Double pointers (CE)

So you've gotten to a green (static) address, but the pointer chain breaks after loading a new level? When you then reapply the same method from the start, do you then return back to the same green/static address, or is it different every time? Have you perhaps checked to see if anything is pointing...

Repairing Mechanical Keyboards & Why I'm Never Buying a Razer Again

A bit over a year ago, some switches in my keyboard started acting up. Either they would not trigger when I pressed them or would double-trigger (that is, as if you pressed the key twice). That simply will not do so I bought a new keyboard. I wanted another mechanical keyboard, something that wasn't...

Re: Idea: Writing to Serial Port

That would be appreciated! I slapped together a crappy donate page.

I'm also glad to hear the code is working well for you. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions; whether that be in relation to the serial methods or other functionality.

Re: Idea: Writing to Serial Port

And it's done. I'll probably change a few things yet, and need to write up proper documentation, but this is a good start. Re: Idea: Writing to Serial Port

I'm not sure if MicroMacro is still being developed It sure is! I also really like your idea. I had wanted add some functionality for GPIO and this seems quite similar. Problem is, I need a way to test these things if I'm going to code them. I think I might very well have a microcontroller around s...

Re: MMORPG bot reverse engineering

That is a legitimate concern, but it is easy to quell. You can just go into the project's main.lua (or whichever file is being initiated) and just do this at the top of the file: network = nil; This would cause the network module to be unloaded and destroyed, therefor preventing any network connecti...

MMORPG bot reverse engineering

I thought these videos were interesting, although video #1 could be better. There were far simpler and more effective ways he could have gone about it, and far more to explore and play with, but they are still quite informative. The video wasn't attempting to be a tutorial on how to reverse engineer...

Re: Comparing characters with umlauts

Looks like in database/utf8_ascii.xml, there are replacements for those characters. For example: <utf8_ascii utf8_1="195" utf8_2="159" ascii="225" dos_replace="ss" /> // ß <utf8_ascii utf8_1="195" utf8_2="188" ascii="129" dos_replace="ue" /> // ü <utf8_ascii utf8_1="195" utf8_2="169" ascii="130" dos...

Could you PM me your character name? Please do not post it publicly for your item protection.

I might have to dig up the code after not touching it in years so I can figure out what's going wrong.

Re: Use rom-bot while playing Counter-strike Global Offensive? It is safe?

I would assume it would be detected. MicroMacro runs as a debugger (much like Cheat Engine) which would be seen is fairly suspicious at the very least.

Re: Comparing characters with umlauts

I believe we convert the umlaut characters to the closest non-umlaut character equivalent. That is, ü becomes u, ä becomes a, and so on.

So if your character name was Böb, just use a profile named bob.xml. I'm not sure which characters are converted; I think ß might convert to ss (as opposed to sz).

Re: Disabling windows hotkeys

The first issue you described is not something I can fix as it is an issue within Windows itself. Quick edit actually pauses execution of the console's thread(s) when in edit mode; this means the hook thread is unable to do any processing, which means Windows waits for the time-out before giving up ...
