Post update .. fly() problems? Ignore... working fine now.
So, I got home today, ran RoM and it did today's update to 5.0.3. So I went to run Rom/bot and it errored on player address. I then ran rom/bot.lua update and then it loaded my profile and asked for my waypoint. I loaded my goblins script and it errored out when it attempted to fly() . Has anyone el...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
it's just as easy to start with a togoblins waypoint file than editing the goblin file itself That's a good point. because then, if the original author releases an update, then you don't have to modify it. Yes, sequencing files in a particular order wouldn't be a part of this Userfunction. That was...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
So my best bet for me to be able to use multiple waypoints would be to do something like the following (Using Goblin Games as an example): First, modify the waypoint to start with a takemeto("area") command to take me to the correct area (for goblin games waypoint, I would have takemeto(&q...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
That's great, Rock5. I've got those zones added, but just wondering... What is the ID of Snoop in those areas (Yrvandis and Haven)? I've noticed Snoop has different IDs in different areas. Other than that, things seems pretty well. I've got the case insensitive matching for the keywords implemented ...

Re: Malatinas Goblins by Bot_romka
I get the following error when it tries to load this waypoint: "Loaded waypoint path Malatinas_Goblins_Wp.xml No return path with default naming Malatinas_Goblins_Wp_return.xml found. We use the normal waypoint path Malatinas_Goblins_Wp.xml now. Did not find any crashed game clients. 12:33am - ...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
I was thinking for my language support, I would add a separate table with translations for the "keywords", so depending on which client, I would use the specific language entry from the table for each keyword. But if you've got something larger going on with the addon hat might address tha...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
Exactly. within each Node# function the text string for where to transport would have to be translated. If you would be able to provide translations for each of those, I could then modify it to support both English and your language based on the client language. Same goes with any other language. If...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
Thanks Rock5. I've taken the names out of the table and get names from the found objects to initiate the Transport chat. That works good. I also went back through Varanas and fixed which NPCs are in which area, so if they move on me again, I'll know it. The last couple tests I ran it seems to work o...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
Thanks for the information. I've fixed my y and z mixup so now the locations are X, Z, Y. I fixed some other things as well but I new get a weird problem. Not every time, but sometimes when it attempts to transport, I get "Now calling transport function Node2 onLoad error: ...pts/rom/userfuncti...

Re: Noobbotter's World Traveler Userfunction
Ok, I'm having some weird issues with this and I'm sure one of you more experienced people will be able to help find the issues a lot quicker than I can. The transports are hit and miss. Sometimes the first transport goes ok and sometimes, follow-on transports will work. One of the problems is that ...

Re: Trouble with my table...
Actually, I played around with it for a while and got it figured out. The comma's at the end didn't do it. You'll see it when I post my code in the waypoints, userfunctions area. Thanks.

Trouble with my table...
I attempted to run my userfunction I'm working on but it doesn't like my tabel. Here's what my table looks like: zoneTable = { {zoneindex="1", ZoneId="1", myzone="1000", nodename="Logar", Npcname="Snoop the Stubborn", ZNpcID="111256", Npcx=...

Re: Search nearest NPC until match found?
Yeah, what I was looking for was to start with the nearest NPC and compare to my table, which will have all NPCs that can transport you. If the nearest one isn't found (because he's not a transporting NPC), then it will do the same for the next nearest NPC it finds, and continue until it finds a mat...

Re: Search nearest NPC until match found?
Great! That will do it. Thanks again for the quick reply. --edit: Actually, would this search for the first one it found in the list? If Snoop was closer than Mishlor, would it find snoop first or Mishlor first? Looking at it, I'd have to guess it would look for the first name in the list, then the ...

Search nearest NPC until match found?
I would like to have a part of my code where it will search friendly NPCs starting from closest one to bot and keep searching until the NPC name(or ID) matches one in a list (or specifically, a table). I was wondering if someone could set me in the right direction for this? Also, just as a reminder,...

I appreciate all the input. My next set of questions aren't related to the title of this thread so I'm going to post that in a new thread. I already got off base by asking about tables in the same thread.

Re: Call function using variable in function name?
I have a couple quick questions about the information you gave me. In this: for k,v in pairs(table) do --this is 1 way to iterate over the table records if (v) then --just being safe and testing that v is no null - should prolly check for table too but am being lazy if (v.Npcname == npcToFind) then ...

Re: Call function using variable in function name?
Awesome. Thanks for the quick answers. I like the second option for the function pointer. Using this info, hopefully it won't take me too awefully long to crank out the userfunction I'm going to make. Thanks a bunch. Once I start to get close to my userfunction doing what I intend, then I'll share a...
